Minimum Wages for Unskilled Workers

- At Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd no worker is paid below the minimum wage
rate declared by the Punjab government. Which is
Rs. 6000/ month.
- Mr.Denim (Pvt) Ltd. is in
process to determine the basic need wage and provide the basic need
wage.

Pay
|
- The company paid its
workers at the double rate for over time work, the over time work is
calculated by the following formula:

Average
Working Hours
|
- The regular working
hours at Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd are eight hours
per employee per day (i-e from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.) including one-hour
break, and forty-eight hours per employee per week.
- On Friday the company
gives an extra half an hour break for prayer, the timing of company on
Friday is from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
- At Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd, the over time working hours does not
exceed 12 hours per employee per week.

- At Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd, the over time working hours does not
exceed 12 hours per employee per week. So total working hours for any
employee will not exceed 60 Hours/Week

Rest
Day
|
- At Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd, all the employees are provided one day off
after every six working days (i-e Sunday). But
of same employee is required to work on Sunday then he has given a
day period in such a way that
his continuous working days period is not more than 10 days.

Annual
Leave
|
- Every employee of
the company is entitled to casual leave with full pay for ten days in a
year, sixteen days sick leave or half average pay in a year, and
fourteen days encashment leave with full pay in a year.

Child
Labor
|
- At the time of
recruitment the Admin manager will examine the original National Identity Card of the applicant to
verify the candidate’s age and will attach a photocopy of the card along
with job application form and other required documents.
- In circumstances
where the candidate is unable to provide I.D card, but is found suitable
for the employment and appears to be above 18 years of age, the person
will be sent to a designated Civil Surgeon for verification of age. The
Civil Surgeon will be sent a confidential letter for age verification.
The fee for the examination will be borne by the company.
- If any child is
found in Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd. or any supplier
/ Sub supplier then the following procedure apply
- The child shall be
enrolled in school and combined hours of daily transportation, to and
from work and school, school and work time does not exceed 10 hours a
day.

|
- Forced labor is not allowed at Mr.Denim (Pvt) Ltd.
- At Mr. Denim (Pvt)
Ltd all the employees are working at their own free will.
- Mr Denim does not with held the original
documents of the employee’s .

- Mr. Denim (Pvt) Ltd will employ, pay, promote, and terminate
the workers on the basis of their ability to do the job, rather than on
the basis of the personal characteristics or beliefs.

|
- Health & Safety officer appointed to ensure
the health and safety of personnel’s.
- Workplaces are
provided with suitable, marked emergency exits in sufficient number.
- Mock drills are conducted to improve the fire
fighting abilities and to ensure the safety of personnel’s.
- Regular Health check up’s are conducted of the
employees.
- All the moving parts are covered with covers.
- Suitable ambient temperature is maintained.

Review
|
- Management review meeting are conducted on
periodic intervals to ensure the implementation of SA 8000 standard
including the opportunities for improvements are also part of the
meetings.

Monitoring
|
- Periodic monitoring is conducted to ensure the
implementation of the principles of SA 8000
|

Suppliers
|
- All the suppliers including the sub suppliers
are evaluated against the requirements of the SA 8000 standard, and
commitment to comply with all the requirements are taken from the
suppliers.
